“Danica Patrick fastest” is a trending term on several search engines this morning, and Sports Illustrated News reported this Saturday, Feb. 16, that it’s no surprise why. Based on her recent practice runs, Danica Patrick is a top shoe-in to secure a spot on the pole for the Daytona 500.
Danica Patrick made the fastest lap this Saturday in two practice sessions to qualify for the upcoming Daytona 500. The talented race car driver drove a 196.220 mph on Daytona International Speedway during the second practice; she added that in this “Great American Race,” she’s looking to take on the top starting spot.
“Everything that we do is to make sure we do whatever we can to be on the pole,” said Danica Patrick, fastest in the training sessions. She was almost a full second faster than the other drivers on Saturday, say reports. “That is what we are all shooting for.”
The opening season for the Daytona 500 this Feb. 24 is planned to be set in the time trials on Sunday. The field will then be set next Thursday for another two races for race car qualifiers.
