Danica Patrick fans will have an opportunity to experience the GoDaddy.com Bowl with the NASCAR star Sunday when the Go Daddy Girl leads the social charge on and off the field in Mobile, the web hosting and domain provider announced Thursday.
Patrick will also serve as the Grand Marshal for the GoDaddy.com Bowl Parade and will be on the field for the coin toss and trophy presentation. Fans who cannot attend the game can follow all the action through the eyes of the Stewart-Haas Racing driver.
“I am planning to tweet photos to my friends and followers,” Patrick said Thursday. “Social media is such a great way to share the experience and engage with fans. It’s sort of like the game, a live event where you aren’t sure exactly what’s going to happen. I want to hear from football fans, especially the ones who are Go Daddy customers – we’re on the same Go Daddy team, no matter who you are rooting for in the Bowl.”
The GoDaddy.com Bowl game pits Mid-American and Sun Belt Conference teams against each other in Mobile. This year Kent State University (11-2, 8-0) faces Arkansas State University (9-3, 7-1).
Patrick is asking fans to tweet and post to Facebook using the hashtag #GoDaddyBowl. Two #GoDaddyBowl field markings are being stamped in each red zone. Patrick, NASCAR’s Most Popular Nationwide driver in 2012, will also use the hashtag to help spectators get closer to the action.
Patrick, who will begin her first full NASCAR Sprint Cup season with Stewart-Haas Racing at the Daytona 500 in February, will also appear in two Super Bowl commercials for GoDaddy. When Patrick appeared in her tenth GoDaddy.com Super Bowl commercial in 2012, she set a record for the most appearances by a celebrity on football’s biggest day.
