Presque Isle Break-wall
GPS:46° 34" 25' -87° 22" 27'
Warning! The Presque Isle Break-wall is an area that allows one to witness the relentless brute force of Mother natures wrath. It is a thing of spectacular beauty, however very dangerous when the weather is ill mannered. Even on the sunniest of Summertime days, the waves can break-over the break-wall and may sweep you out to sea. Heed the warning sign advice, and sadly enough, the rock memorial situated at the threshold of the staircase leading to the break-wall, that memorializes two young boys that didn't heed the signs warning. This is one site-seeing spot that is to be respected when partaking of some outdoor adventure travel.
You will happen upon the break-wall shortly thereafter passing the Presque Isle Marina, which is located on the right-hand side upon entrance into the park. Should you need further information, you may wish to stop by Marquette's starting point: Lake Superior Community Partnership for a wealth of info pertaining to site-seeing, travel & tourism, outdoor adventure travel or nature travel in and around the Marquette County area.
Also keep in mind that Presque Isle Park: The crown jewel site-seeing spot of Marquette Michigan offers many other site-seeing spots located through out the island. One of keen Native American keen interest would be the grave site of Chief Charley Kawbamgam
