What started out as a sisterhood of subculture friends with a thirst for alternative fashion, heavy music, thrilling new adventures, and fruity cocktails (of course), has truly evolved into something special and meaningful. Several of the women joined up with the international performance art and dance group, the Cyber Kidz Made on Marz, to walk in the NYC Pride March this past Sunday.

On Saturday, July 12, 2014, the Dangerous Babes will be participating in the New York City edition of LoziLu, the women's mud run. LoziLu is a fun and filthy 5k festival for all athletic abilities to love! It involves exhilarating obstacles (with fun names such as Fishnets and The Exfoliator), music, mud and an amazing after-party. The LoziLu mission is to spread happiness, health and fitness throughout the world by leveraging the familial influence of women, and to support leukemia and lymphoma research to find a cure for blood cancers while helping cancer patients live happier lives.

Spectators and friends are welcome to come to LoziLu to cheer for the runners on course. Look out for the black-clad DBAA, currently scheduled to run in the 10:15AM wave at the Aviator Sports and Events Center. Aviator is located at Floyd Bennett Field, 3159 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11234.

A percentage of the registration fees for LoziLu will go to L.I.F.E. (The Leukemia Ironman Fundraiser for Eric). L.I.F.E. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to cancer survivorship by providing assistance to cancer patients in need, scholarship programs, and donating to cancer research laboratories. Their goal is to help draw awareness and contribute towards finding more effective treatments, and one day, a cure.
