Dane and Wilcott headline huge NWA Houston event in Cypress

NWA Houston is back in action on Saturday night, and they are ready to tear the house down at the Cypress VFW. With a few championships on the menu and a great night of action lined up, fans will be in for an electric night. Here's how the night is scheduled.

Headlining the card will be the NWA Lone Star Heavyweight Championship match, as "Addictive and Expensive" Byron Wilcott defends the gold against "Godzilla" Jax Dane. Wilcott, fresh off a recent trip to Japan, has taken on all challengers and has had a lengthy run as champion. He is also very confident that Dane will be just another victim of defeat.

Dane needs to be worried about what I'm going to do to him in Cypress. I've defended this belt against some of the best names in the NWA, and Jax Dane isn't even in my league. His "A-Game" won't be enough, and he's going to find out why I'm the best at NWA Houston.

The challenger hasn't been available for contact recently, but you can bet he'll be more than ready to do whatever it takes to put the NWA Lone Star Heavyweight Championship back around his waist.

Both Dane and Wilcott, while preparing for their match, may want to keep an eye on the ring during the night, because there is also a #1 Contender's match on Saturday night. "The Name That Entertains" Jasper Davis and Chaz Taylor are on a crash course to determine who will be next in line for a shot at the gold, and they will face off in Cypress. Jasper has been campaigning for a championship match throughout the last year, and is also a former NWA Lone Star Heavyweight Champion. Chaz has already let it be known that he intends on earning that #1 Contender status, and he doesn't care WHO the champion is because he will do what it takes to dethrone them.

The NWA Lone Star Tag Team Titles are on the line this Saturday, as the Sons of Texas (Alex Reigns and "Cowboy" James Claxton) defend against Houston Carson and "One Man" Mike Dell. Carson is making his return to NWA Houston and would love nothing more than to win the gold alongside his longtime friend. The champions have had a dominant run with the titles, since knocking off Scot Summers and Ryan Genesis back in September. Can the roughneck champions hang on to the gold, or will we see new champions crowned at the Cypress VFW?

Two big men will collide this Saturday, as the always popular Hambone squares off against Shane Taylor. Fans will remember Taylor making a huge splash in his debut a few months back, viciously assaulting what was supposed to be his good friend Ray "Death" Rowe. However he's yet to face the likes of Hambone, who has his own unique style to get things done. Don't expect a technical classic, as both men love to fight and will likely start brawling as soon as the bell rings.

As if that weren't enough, fans will see the debut of the man known as Americos. He has a big following in surrounding areas, and will bring his patriotic ways to NWA Houston on Saturday to face Dan Manson. Also, the new NWA World Women's Champion Barbi Hayden will be in attendance as well as David "Super" Duperon, Breaking Point (DJ King and Silky Baines), El Coyote and Jodan.

Doors open at 7:00 P.M., with belltime set for 7:30 P.M. Tickets will be available at the door for the following prices:

  • VIP: $15 (this also includes a special meet and greet with the NWA Houston stars between 6:30-7:00 P.M. and guaranteed front row seating)
  • Adults: $10
  • Kids under 12: $5

You will definitely want to get there early, as NWA Houston has a long history of standing-room only events. You'll want the best seat possible for all the action that goes down every month in Cypress. Make sure to check out their official website for breaking news and event info.
