Coming into week 6 of season 17 of “Dancing with the Stars”, 8 couples are left and they will be facing a new challenge – the group dance. According to the Washington Times on Oct. 20, “The Switch-Up Challenge” will place couples dancing side by side in two rounds. Dancers will not know the music or style of dance until the competition.
The judges will determine who is eliminated and one by one, the couples will leave the dance floor. The last couples to leave will earn extra judges points which will be combined with the individually earned cores for the evening.
Speaking of the individual dances, each couple will perform either a ballroom or Latin dance they have not yet performed. Here is a rundown of who is dancing what in the assigned performance order:
- Bill Engvall and Emma Slater, Tango
- Amber Riley and Derek Hough, Samba
- Leah Remini and Tony Dovoloni, Quickstep
- Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd, Tango
- Nicole Snooki Polizzi and Sasha Farber, Foxtrot
- Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke, Paso Doble
- Elizabeth Berkley Lauren and Val Chmerkovskiy, Cha Cha Cha
- Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff, Viennese Waltz
In addition to the performance by the celebrities, there will be an opening number by the entire cast choreographed by DWTS alum Lacey Schwimmer and her brother Benji. Guest stars are Ariana Grande and Mike who will share the stage as they perform their duet, “Popular.”
Week 6 of “Dancing with the Stars” airs Monday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. on ABC.
