As we enter week and the quarter finals, “Dancing with the Stars” brings in yet another guest judge to liven things up. This time, according to TV Grapevine on Friday, it will be “Dance Moms’s” Abby Lee Miller. Other features of the evening include the first ever ‘Celebrity Dance Duel’ and Mark Ballas debuting his new single, “Get My Name.”
Abby Lee Miller is a realty television personality and a choreographer so her seat next to Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carria Ann Inaba should provide a more informed critique than some of the other judges we’ve seen this season. Nothing personal, Redfoo!
Professional dancer, currently paired with Candace Cameron Bure, will perform his new single as he debuts as a recording artist live on the show. He will appear with his band and the “Ray Chew Live” house band to perform “Get My Name.” The dancing will again feature two performances by each celebrity, their individual dance with their partner and a “Celebrity Dance Duel.”
This is the first time the show has held the “Celebrity Dance Duel.” Two couples will take the floor to perform a style of dance they have both already done in competition. All four members of the group will dance to the same musical piece together. During the middle of the routine, the pros will leave the floor. The two celebrities will have to dance together. When it is all over, one couple will be eliminated and the remaining couple will proceed to the semi-finals.
Celebrities go into the week with Amy Purdy recovering from a “rib out of place” injury, Danica McKellar recovering from a broken rib and Candace Cameron Bure struggling to overcome her nerves as the competition comes down to the wire. Ice dance couple Meryl Davis and Charlie White continue to duke it out against one another, with Meryl having a decided lead over her long-time partner. James Maslow continues to delight and surprise while fending off queries about his suspected romantic relationship with partner Peta Murgatroyd.
