The showrunners behind “Dancing with the Stars week 4 ‘Switch-up’ have kept things close to the vest with regard to the new pairings, the performance order and the dance styles. However, on April 6, Communities Digital News posted a report based on their detailed investigating of fan blogs, Twitter posts and other resources. We think we have a good idea of who’s dancing with whom and what type of dances they’ll be doing. The official announcement won’t take place until the show begins Monday April 7.
Stars will be dancing with brand new partners for this week. Partnerships were voted on by fans via Twitter. Afterwards, everyone who makes it through the elimination will go back to their original partner. The stars have been vocal about their dislike of the new tactic and many of the leads about pairings were derived from their tweets.
For example, Peta Murgatroyd tweeted about driving through the Everglades in Florida. Ice dance champion Charlie White is performing with “Stars on Ice” in Florida this weekend. It also looks as of the Chmerkovskiy brothers are switching their partners and BFFs Mark Ballas and Derek Hough are also switching partners.
According to ABC’s press release, each star will dance a style that is new to him or her. None of the couples will be dancing the same style, either.
Here is the unconfirmed lineup and dance style breakdown:
NeNe Leakes and Derek Hough: Jazz
James Maslow and Cheryl Burke: Tango
Danica McKellar and Maks Chmerkovskiy: Jive
Meryl Davis and Val Chmerkovskiy: Argentine Tango
Candace Cameron Bure and Tony Dovoloni: Quickstep
Cody Simpson and Sharna Burgess: Foxtrot
Drew Carey and Witney Carson: Cha Cha
Amy Purdy and Mark Ballas: Salsa
Charlie White and Peta Murgatroyd: Rumba
Also back in the ballroom is former pro dancer Julianne Hough but she will again be appearing as a guest judge.
Are you looking forward to tonight’s show?
“Dancing With the Stars” returns for Week 4 on Monday night, April 7, at 8 p.m. on ABC.
