With the big cast announcement only days away, the professional dancers are beginning to chatter about the new season of Dancing With the Stars on Twitter. Believe it or not, they only learned about their fates this week. So, who got the invitation to dance on season eleven, and who did not? Here’s the latest scoop from the pros on Dancing With the Stars.
Definitely In:
Lacey Schwimmer: “I’ve got great news. I am ON this season of DWTS after all! Get ready for a fantastic season!” Lacey Schwimmer appeared on three seasons of Dancing With the Stars and was partnered with Lance Bass, Steve-O and Mark Dacascos.
Definitely Out:
Jonathan Roberts: “I’m sad to say that I will not be on DWTS this season. Well other than some pro dances on Tuesday, so I’ll let everyone know when those are.” Jonathan Roberts is married to Anna Trebunskaya and he’s competed on seven seasons of Dancing With the Stars. Past partners include Rachel Hunter, Giselle Fernandez, Heather Mills, Marie Osmond, Monica Seles, Belinda Carlisle and Macy Gray.
Dmitry Chaplin: “Unfortunately I will not be doing the next season of DWTS, so time to move on!” Dmitry appeared on two seasons of Dancing With the Stars. In season 8, he was paired up with Holly Madison. He and partner Mya finished in second place during season nine.
Anna Demidova: “Hey guys unfortunately I won't be on DWTS this season. A little sad but glad to be back doing professional competitions with my partner.” Anna was the winner of the professional dancer competition of Dancing with the Stars, Season 8, which guaranteed her a spot as a professional dancer in Season 9. She was partnered with Michael Irvin and they were eliminated in the seventh week of the competition.
Damian Whitewood: “I am sad to say I will only be on the results shows this season of DWTS.” Damian competed on just one season of Dancing With the Stars. During the tenth and last season, he was partnered with Pamela Anderson.
Ashley Costa sent the following tweet to Jonathan Roberts, who learned he was not asked to compete on season eleven: “Me too.” This means she is also sad about not returning. Ashley was partnered with Joey McIntyre, Master P, Harry Hamlin and Buzz Aldrin. Her best finish was third place with Joey McIntyre.
Not Official (but lots of hints):
OK, the pros are under contract to keep the cat in the bag until after the official announcement. However, several are hinting that they will be back for season eleven.
Tony Dovolani: “One more day home then…” Tony also put a wink face on his Twitter page, a sure sign that he is happy about something. Tony has been a professional DWTS dancer since season two. His past partners include Stacy Keibler, Sara Evans, Leeza Gibbons, Jane Seymour, Marissa Jaret Winkour, Susan Lucci, Melissa Rycroft, Kathy Ireland and Kate Gosselin. The closest he has come to winning was in season eight when he and Melissa Rycroft finished in third place.
Maksim Chrmerkovskiy: “Amazing weekend....great Sunday with ALL the family and ALL the close friends (very rare occasion lately). Last weekend home before LA.....” Could it be that he must go to L.A. to begin rehearsals with his new partner? It sure looks that way. Maks has appeared on eight seasons of DWTS and has been partnered with Tia Carrere, Willa Ford, Laila Ali, Mel B, Misty May-Treanor, Denise Richards, Debi Mazar and Erin Andrews. His best finish to date was second place with Mel B in season 5.
Kym Johnson: “I’m so happy. Have not been this happy in a while.” There’s not an explanation for her newfound happiness, but chances are pretty good that she was asked to return to DWTS after a one-season absence. Kym has participated in seven seasons of DWTS. Past partners include Jerry Springer, Joey Fatone, Mark Cuban, Penn Jillette, Warren Sapp, David Alan Grier and Donny Osmond. Donny and Kym were the champions of season nine.
Karina Smirnoff: “I know you all want to know about next season of DWTS, but unfortunately I don't have the answer for u just yet. I will as soon as I know.” This was followed by a more recent tweet. “Goooooood moooooorrrnnnnnniinnnnngggg! Long day today. Lots to do.” Karina was not on season ten, but she has competed on seven seasons of DWTS. Past partners include Mario Lopez. Billy Ray Cyrus, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Mario, Rocco DiSpirito, Steve Wozniak and Aaron Carter. Her best finish was second place with Mario Lopez.
The Big Question Marks:
It looks the biggest shake-up is with the female professional dancers this year. There’s a rumor circulating that Julianne Hough may return, but she’s in Atlanta rehearsing for Footloose, so there may be a scheduling conflict. Anna Trebunskaya, Cheryl Burke, Chelsie Hightower and Edyta Sliwinska have been completely mum, so there’s a pretty good chance that they will be back. Most of the male pros have also been quiet about season eleven, including Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Louis Van Amstel and Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Look to see them all return this season, too.
The cast for season eleven of Dancing With the Stars will be announced on Monday, August 30th during Bachelor Pad, which airs at 10/9c on ABC. In the meantime, as in seasons past, the rumors continue to fly about the newest cast of America’s favorite reality competition show. Here are the latest names being tossed about as possibilities:

What’s the Same:
Here’s what remains the same for season eleven of Dancing With the Stars. Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke return as hosts. Your favorite trio of Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli are back behind the judges table. Once again, the Celeb-aquarium will give the competitors a birds-eye view of the dance floor. This season will include one more couple, up to twelve from last year’s total of eleven. With American Idol in complete turmoil, it’s nice to see that Dancing With the Stars is sticking with its winning formula. Let the new season begin!

This should prove to be another great season of Dancing with the Stars.
I heard Bristol Palin may be a contestant this year.
When are the producers of DWTS going to learn that people on reality shows are not "stars"?
Got something to say?
