One down, 12 to go! When "Dancing with the Stars" season 19 premieres Sept. 15 on ABC, "General Hospital" star Antonio Sabato Jr. will be one of the 13 celebrities who takes to the ballroom in the hunt for the coveted mirror ball trophy, according to an Aug. 26 report by E!'s Kristin Dos Santos.
Per Dos Santos, an unnamed source confirmed that the attractive Sabato Jr. will take part in the hit reality show's 19th season. The 42-year old, who first gained notice as a Calvin Klein model, is perhaps best known for his mid-1990s role as Jagger Cates on the daytime drama "General Hospital." He's also appeared on a host of other reality shows, including VH1's "But Can They Sing?", "Celebrity Wife Swap," and "My Antonio." The latter featured women competing for Sabato Jr.'s affections and aired on VH1 in late 2009.
To date, six talented ladies will be featured as pro coaches on "DWTS" season 19, and any one of them could serve as Sabato Jr.'s partner. They include two-time champion Cheryl Burke, season 13 winner Karina Smirnoff, season 14 victor Peta Murgatroyd, "So You Think You Can Dance" alums Witney Carson and Allison Holker, and Emma Slater, who made a splash when she and comedian Bill Envgall finished season 17 in fourth place.
Sabato Jr. could also find himself paired with a mystery woman, as a surprise Aug. 26 tweet by ABC revealed that a 13th professional dancer would be revealed to the public on Aug. 27. An apparent front runner for the gig is Sharna Burgess, whose omission from the pro roster left fans --and her boyfriend-- crying foul.
The celebrity cast reveal for "Dancing with the Stars" season 19 will air live during the Sept. 4 edition of "Good Morning America." For the latest scoop, follow the show's official Twitter account.
