When "Dancing with the Stars" season 17 begins Sept. 16 on ABC, a host of familiar professional faces will return to the ballroom for another go at mirror ball glory, according to an Aug. 22 series of tweets by popular show spoiler source DWTSGossip.
Ladies confirmed to partner the new season's celebrity contestants include Cheryl Burke, Peta Murgatroyd, Karina Smirnoff, Lindsay Arnold and Emma Slater. Slater previously appeared as part of the "DWTS" troupe that performed during the now-defunct Tuesday night results shows.
Although her participation has yet to be officially confirmed, Sharna Burgess, who partnered comedian Andy Dick during the spring 2013 edition and became a fan favorite thanks to her creative choreography, is thought to be the sixth female pro. Burgess hinted her intention to compete on Aug. 22 when she responded to a fan's question asking if she'd return with a simple ";))"
The guys who will definitely appear include Derek Hough, Mark Ballas, Val Chmerkovskiy and Tony Dovolani. The two remaining spots are likely to be filled by Gleb Savchenko, who worked with "Real Housewife" Lisa Vanderpump during season 16; Tristan MacManus; or Henry Byalikov, who previously danced with Slater as part of the troupe.
DWTSGossip also shared the identities of a trio of well-liked pros who won't dance during season 17. Included are Maks Chmerkovskiy, Chelsie Hightower and Anna Trebunskaya. In addition, long-time show participant Kym Johnson confirmed on Aug. 20 that she'd be skipping the fall season.
The full cast of "Dancing with the Stars" season 17 will be revealed during the Sept. 4 episode of "Good Morning America" on ABC.
