Jo Dee Messina is one of the celebrities in talks to be part of the "Dancing with the Stars" season 17 cast. This news was revealed by Taste of Country Aug. 17 after the country singer went to her Facebook page and posted a message about possibly appearing on the hit ABC reality show this fall.
“As soon as we got in [from touring], I headed to airport to fly to L.A. I had a meeting with the folks at ABC and ‘Dancing With the Stars,’” she wrote. “I’m hoping to get on there for the fall season… The folks out there were so nice. I really enjoyed meeting with them.”
The message added that once Messina was finished speaking with "Dancing with the Stars" producers, she had a great date night with her husband!
“The time with ‘nothing to do’ in L.A. was awesome,” she wrote. “We laughed and got the chance to be silly. We got a chance to remember why it is we love each other so much. I guess date nights are crucial. Life hasn’t allowed many of them lately, but, that’s OK.”
Messina said she was "grateful" for the meeting with ABC executives and for the time it allowed her to spend with her hubby.

IndyStar.com also reported last week that Indy 500 winner, Tony Kanaan, is auditioned for "Dancing with the Stars" season 17. It's unknown if he'll be part of the cast. Kanaan was suppose to know by Friday if he'll be one of the contestants to compete on the show. The Indy racer supposedly wants to include "televised dancer" to his resume, the report said.
The "Dancing with the Stars" cast always has a great combination of sports stars, music stars, reality stars, and other big-name celebrities.
Who else will be part of the season 17 lineup when the official cast of "Dancing with the Stars" is revealed on ABC's "Good Morning America" Sept 4?
