Rumors were rampant concerning the news that “Dancing with the Stars” was going to make a big announcement on week 7’s telecast which occurred Monday, Oct. 28. Many thought they would be announcing the retirement of Head Judge Len Goodman. While the announcement concerned Len to a degree, fans were relieved to learn he would only be away for week 8. The news was that superstar Cher would take his place as a guest judge for the week.
In addition to sitting behind the desk, Cher will also perform two numbers during the show, “Closer to the Truth”, the title track from her new album and her mega hit “Believe.” And as if that wasn’t even exposure for the singer known for her revealing outfits, the show will pay tribute to her by including her music form over the course of her nearly 50-year career. The singer is surprised the show wants to honor her but accepted graciously.
It was back in season 13 when Cher’s son Chaz Bono competed. Cher was there for several episodes to cheer him on and he will be there to root for her as a judge as well.
Tune in on Nov. 4 to see Cher as judge and performer on week 8 of “Dancing with the Stars. Check back often for news, updates and more.
