The final three celebrities performed three routines on part one of the "Dancing with the Stars" season nine finale. The first was an individual performance, the second was a Megamix group performance and the third was a freestyle performance.
While everyone did a fantastic job showing viewers that they really belong in the final three, no one had a more amazing night than Mya, who finished the night with two perfect scores and a near perfect score of 87 points out of a possible 90 points.
Individual performances
Kelly and Louie - Argentine Tango - 26
- Len - Very, very good; Danced up to par
- Bruno - Free hand was loose at times; Definitely mastered the little pieces of the Argentine Tango
- Carrie Ann - Intimacy that she hasn't seen in Kelly before; Very mature
- Manchester TV Examiner - Much better than Kelly's first Tango; So mature; Only had one small slip up that was barely noticeable; Fantastic choreography; Such a star performance
Mya and Dmitry - Paso Doble - 30
- Len - Up there with his favorite Paso Doble the show has ever had
- Bruno - Amazing; Really put the beauty of the Paso Doble out for viewers to see
- Carrie Ann - Dubbed Mya the queen of the Paso Doble
- Manchester TV Examiner - One of my favorite performances of the season; Sexy; Sultry; Dark; Passionate; Mya looked incredible; Definitely a winning performance; Thought the song "We Will Rock You" was very appropriate for the finals
Donny and Kym - Cha-Cha-Cha - 27
- Len - One little flop but overall very good
- Bruno - Donny really is a professional and a star
- Carrie Ann - Loved the energy and the hip shaking; Break-through performance
- Manchester TV Examiner - Donny is the best performer the show has had all season; It may not have been the best dance but it was the best show of the night; Donny really just shook his hips a lot while Kym Cha-Cha-Cha'd around him
Megamix performance
The three couples performed the Viennese Waltz, the Samba and the Jive side-by-side with the same choreography.
I think Mya was the best overall for the performance, but Kelly Osbourne really shined during the Viennese Waltz. Unfortunately, that shine didn't last through the Samba or the Jive. Honestly, watching the three couples side-by-side just showed how much Mya really deserves to win.
The judges' final decision was Mya in first place, Donny in second place and Kelly in third place.
Freestyle performances
Kelly and Louie - 24
- Len - Really enjoyed watching the performance
- Bruno - Kelly looked beautiful; Sometimes people fall, it happens
- Carrie Ann - Definitely showed that Kelly is a survivor
- Manchester TV Examiner - High energy; Really exciting; Kelly and Louie lost it in the middle and Kelly fell, though; Not really the most graceful performance; Loved the glitter costumes
Mya and Dmitry - 27
- Len - Expecting something more; Wasn't enough
- Bruno - Not bad was expecting something more spectacular
- Carrie Ann - Didn't live up to what Mya could be; Wasn't outstanding
- Manchester TV Examiner - Beautiful lift and spin; Very fun performance; Adorable; Loved the spin; Not as many technical points as some of Mya's previous dances; Not my favorite solo I've seen but could be a winning performance; Dmitry's energy was amazing
Donny and Kym -
- Len - Absolute show stopper
- Bruno - Master of Vegas and Hollywood
- Carrie Ann - DWTS Hall of Fame of performance
- Manchester TV Examiner - Very theatrical but in a good way; Great choreography; Broadway was the perfect choice for Donny; Not sure the performance was the risk the couple thought it would be, but it did get the crowd up on their feet; Loved the flip
