Heading into week 4 of “Dancing with the Stars,” things are about to get very different as for the first time the stars are switching partners for the week and it’s anybody’s guess who will be heading home. The folk over at Buddy TV analyzed things on April 7 and came up with a pretty straight forward breakdown of who they think will be eliminated after the ‘Switch-Up.’
The interesting thing to note is that tonight’s performances with new partners will have nothing to do with who is sent home. This week’s elimination is based on last week’s performances, scores and voting. The results from tonight’s performances won’t be realized until next week. That said, former dance pro, Julianne Hough will be sitting in as a guest judge tonight.
Here’s how the celebs stack up.
Safe without a doubt
Meryl Davis who scored the first 10s of the season last week is securely ensconced at the top of the leaderboard. Close behind is her real life ice dancing partner Charlie White, singer James Maslow, actress Danica McKellar and athlete Amy Purdy. This group landed in a 4-way tie for second place last week. Unless one of them received absolutely no votes, they are all going to be safe.
The middle of the pack
There’s always a few stuck in the middle of the pack who show just enough hope or have big enough fan bases to keep them hanging on. This season, Australian teen singing sensation Cody Simpson, who performs well and scores high, seems to have stuck closer to the middle than the top. Candace Cameron Bure started strong but has fizzled ever since.
Danger! Danger Will Robinson!
There are really only two contenders in the danger zone if we figure on dance skills alone. Neither Drew Carey nor NeNe Leakes is terrible but when compared to the rest of the stellar competition this season, they just don’t quite measure up. Carey could coast along on his fan base for a bit but he’s in a precarious spot.
Who will be leaving?
NeNe Leakes seems like a good candidate for the one going home this week. Her ungainly height makes her look awkward no matter how hard her partner Tony Dovalani tries to make her seem graceful. She has adequate moves but lacks sparkle and pizzazz on the floor. I am agreeing with Buddy TV on their pick that NeNe Leakes will be the one eliminated in the ‘Switch-up’ week. What do you think?
