Despite dancing her way to the top in Dancing with the Stars, Mya has faced loss along the way. Most prominent would be the 17 pounds of weight loss.
In an interview with OK! magazine, Mya revealed she's danced through being sick and danced through pain, but in the first month lost 17 pounds.
After a while though the singer admits she put some muscle on and consequently some of the weight. "I am back at 127 [pounds] because I've gained muscle from dancing," she said to the mag.
And her higher-in-protein diet has helped too. After finding freedom from her vegetarian diet, Mya also found energy. The 30-year-old dancing star began to consume more protein and become familiar with the term "carb load".
In addition to dancing, Mya also told OK! she's a big fan of boxing workouts, jumping rope and interval training.
Tonight, she will face possible elimination in tonight's show against fellow competitors, Playboy model Joanna Krupa, rocker daughter Kelly Osbourne and Donny Osmond. For more Dancing with the Stars show news, click here.
