Dancing with the Stars aired the first elimination round of season 12 on March 29, 2011. Dancing with the Stars kicked off season 12 with a two night performance round. Night one premiered on Monday, March 21, 2011 and Mike Catherwood was obviously unprepared for the competition. He and pro partner Lacey Schwimmer performed a Fox Trot that left the judges cold, earning the two the lowest score of the evening, a 13 out of a possible 30 points.
Night two of the 'Dancing with the Stars' 2011 premier aired on Monday, March 29th and Mike Catherwood had a second chance to redeem himself. He and Schwimmer performed a Jive that was critiqued, "You were flying around like a wasp at a picnic, but I was smiling all through it," by Dancing with the Stars head judge, Len Goodman. The two earned a score of 17 out of 30 for their second performance, landing them at the bottom of the 'Dancing with the Stars' 2011 leaderboard.
Landing at the bottom of the 'Dancing with the Stars' leaderboard does not mean a contestant will automatically be voted off. If Mike Catherwood had of had a large fan base, votes from viewers at home might have saved him from elimination, but sadly those votes were not enough to save Mike Catherwood from being voted off of Dancing with the Stars 2011.
