It sounds like Maks Chmerkovskiy might have found his perfect dance partner for this season of “Dancing with the Stars.” According to People on March 16, the pro dancer promises a drama-free season and he credits Meryl Davis for that. He has a new attitude that he will be bringing to the dance floor.

The 34-year-old dancer says that he has learned some things during his year off from the reality show and he is now going to be calm and relaxed as he starts his bid for the mirror ball trophy with his new dance partner. He says that he is thrilled to have someone who is upbeat, funny, hardworking, and is more ‘normal.'

He credits the Olympic gold medalist for changing his attitude so that he can stay out of the drama that seems to follow him during the rehearsals and on the ballroom floor, as he is known for butting heads with the three judges.

"Listen, I'm a sweet guy. I'm just intense at work. I have nothing but the end result in mind. My entire career has been like that," he told People.

He certainly has caused some drama in previous seasons but that just goes to show just how passionate he is about his dance. The same goes for his brother Val, who also displays his passion when he dances and how he relates to his partners. The elder Chmerkovskiy doesn't think that the viewers want to see drama. This time he bringing a new drama-free season, or at least it won't come from him.

What does Meryl Davis bring into his life that has got him singing a new tune? He told People that he actually loves working with her and that he doesn’t just have to tolerate her, and that he loves working with the ice dancer.

"I noticed that I'm not nervous and I'm not stressing out, like I usually would be," Chmerkovskiy dished about the rehearsals so far. “I've got somebody who is at the top of their game – not a retired athlete with aches and pains and certain physical issues. She is in great shape. She's in great spirits. I got somebody who doesn't need to prove herself to anyone."

It sounds like the Ukrainian has very high regards and affection for Davis. In a clip showing the dancing twosome joking around with each other during rehearsals, Chmerkovskiy wanted to know one thing about his new partner.

"So, I love you and I would love to marry you, but I need to know if you and Charlie [White] are dating first," the hunk wondered.

When Meryl Davis told him that they were definitely not dating, Chmerkovskiy was heard saying, “Good!” With his recently single status, the pro dancer may be on the lookout for a new lady in his life. However, he will be mainly focused on getting Davis ready for the dance floor. It sure looks like they are getting along famously and that will be sure to show in their upcoming dance routines.

Will you be voting for Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy on "Dancing with the Stars?"
