Jennifer Grey was the highest score star on Monday night's "Dancing With The Stars" premiere. The former "Dirty Dancing" star, who broke down during rehearsal over the death of former co-star Patrick Swayze, moved judged Carrie Ann to tears.
Jennifer Grey's "Dancing With The Stars" performance was set to a familiar song. A song that she danced to in her popular movie "Dirty Dancing" with Patrick Swayze. Swayze, who died last year from cancer, is now Grey's biggest inspiration.
During rehearsals with partner Derek Hough, Jennifer Grey struggled to hold in her emotions, saying that all of the memories from her "Dirty Dancing" time came rushing back to her. "It took me back in a time capsule, and I was with Patrick. I just missed him. He was like you, young and gorgeous," Grey said to partner Derek Hough.
Grey recently revealed that Swayze's widow reached out to her before her dancing debut. "She actually sent me an e-mail last week saying that she's rooting for me and thinking about me," Grey, 50, told Ryan Seacrest. "I was very moved by that and very happy that she sent that to me."
Jennifer Grey earned the highest marks of the night, impressing the judges. "Jennifer Grey did so great on DWTS," tweeted one Cleveland resident. What were your thoughts on Jennifer Grey's "Dancing With The Stars" performance? Leave your comments below.
