'Dancing with the Stars': Jennifer Grey inspired by cancer battle to compete

One of the more fascinating celebrities to participate in this season of "Dancing with the Stars" is Jennifer Grey, who of course is famous thanks to her role in the iconic film "Dirty Dancing." So why did she decide to do the show this season? In a new interview, the actress admits that she actually had said no to the show a number of times before -- however, she feels a new lease on life thanks to a surgery to remove a cancerous lump:

"[I] began saying 'yes' to everything scary that could be fun and joyful and not controlled by fear."

However, Grey is also taking a larger risk than anyone else on the show -- because of complications from a 1987 car crash, one injury thanks to the show could end up leaving her paralyzed:

"Those crash injuries mean a simple fall could cripple me - but I'm willing to take the chance. Life is short."
