Solomon Burke, the singer whose version of ‘Cry to Me’ played during the love scenein ‘Dirty Dancing,’ starring ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Jennifer Grey and the late Patrick Swayze, died Sunday on his way to Amsterdam.  Solomon Burke was 70.

Solomon Burke reportedly suffered a heart attack on route to Amsterdam from his Los Angeles home. He was set to play a sold-out concert Tuesday in the Netherlands.  "He was on his way to spread his message of love as he loved to do," Burke's family said in a statement on Sunday.

A bare-chested Patrick Swayze danced seductively with Jennifer Grey to Burke's "Cry to Me" in one of the most memorable scenes from the movie ‘Dirty Dancing.’

Solomon Burke was a big family man also his website states, he was the father to 21, grandfather to 90 and great-grandfather to 19.  

In other news ‘Dirty Dancing’ star Jennifer Grey had been on the top of the leader board on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ until last week’s performance.  Perhaps a tribute performance to Solomon Burke’s ‘Cry to Me’ will get her ‘Dirty Dancing’ back on!
