Whew, we're on to season 17 -- and no that doesn't mean Dancing with the Stars has been around for 17 years. This season -- premiering Monday, September 16 -- will showcase some of the most interesting and familiar faces DWTS has seen in recent years.
Actress Amber Riley portrays Mercedes Jones on FOX's hit series Glee. She will be partnered up with DWTS veteran and four-time and reigning champion Derek Hough. Riley has big shoes to fill but with her musical background, we're sure she will be amazing.
Next up we have award-winning comedian and recording artist Bill Engvall. He will be partnering up with first-time dancing pro Emma Slater. Although new to the DWTS spotlight, Slater has been dancing with the DWTS troupe and performed in all 15 episodes of season 14. If she looks familiar, now you know where you've probably seen her.
Mechanical engineer Bill Nye -- yes, that's Bill Nye the Science Guy -- will be joining the team this season. He will be partnering with professional dancer Tyne Stecklein. Like Slater, this will be Stecklein's first time competing on the show. Not sure if Bill Nye is much of a dancer, but we're sure he'll use science to do the best he can.
The adorably gorgeous Brant Daugherty will be sure to bring some eye candy to season 17. The Pretty Little Liars actor will bust a move with veteran DWTS pro Peta Murgatroyd. Gorgeous couple!
Finally a name most people will know -- The Voice co-host and singer/actress Christina Milian will take the stage with cutie-patootie pro Mark Ballas. We're sure these two will dance their way to the top with Milian's moves -- remember the Dip It Low video?
High School Musical star Corbin Bleu will be putting his dancing shoes back on as he makes his way to the ballroom floor. The not-so-high-school-looking actor will partner up with DWTS vixen and champion Karina Smirnoff.
"What a pig" could possibly be one of Elizabeth Berkley's more infamous lines. The Saved By the Bell actress will dance -- this time with clothes on (remember Showgirls?) -- with the very handsome Valentin Chmerkovskiy -- try spelling that six times fast. Chmerk -- Valentin will be competing in his 5th season.
Hopefully there will be no pigeons, bats, or any other kind of bird as Jack Osourne takes the floor with DWTS pro and two-time champion Cheryl Burke.
Of course, there is a DWTS season athlete. This time around it's athlete and successful business entrepreneur Keyshawn Johnson. He'll work his feet -- and hips, if we have anything to say about it -- with pro Sharna Burgess. This will be Burgess' second season on the show.
Bring on the headlines. This season, the most headline-grabbing -- at least in recent news -- celebrity is actress Leah Remini. Lately, she has been in the news for leaving the realm of Scientology. She'll be teaming up with veteran and All-Stars champion Tony Dovolani.
Still bored? Put out the red carpet for Miss Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi. With her recent weight loss and the birth of her baby boy, we can't wait to see the future Mrs. LaVelle strut her stuff with DWTS rookie Sasha Farber -- a DWTS troupe dancer.
And last but not least, there must always be an older female. Valerie Harper -- although not even close to being that old -- fills in those shoes for season 17. The Mary Tyler Moore Show actress takes the ballroom floor with 4th season DWTS professional dancer Tristan MacManus.
There you have it, folks. Are you excited for this season of DWTS? Do you think the line-up is fresh and fun? In other words -- will you be tuning in on Monday night?
All I'm thinking is, where is Max, and John Stamos -- we're pleading for you for season 18!
