On Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 6:30pm the stars will be dancing at the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology (SiMT) at 1951 Pisgah Road, Florence, South Carolina. Florence Dancing With The Stars is a fundraising benefit to support the Florence District One School Foundation. Mrs. Debbie Hyler is the School Foundation Executive Director.
The professional dancing stars consist of members of the Kelly Fine Arts Dance Studio (KFA) located in Florence and other Florence professional residents. These professionals will be paired with members of the Florence community. The owner of KFA, Burnadene Kelley, will be paired with Florence County Sherriff Kenney Boone. Some of the community amateur dancers are Florence County Sherriff Kenney Boone, doctors, lawyers, business owners and Florence’s own First Lady Laura Wukela plus Octavia Williams-Blake a Florence City Council Member and business woman.
On the Florence Dancing With The Stars website you will be able to vote for your favorite couple, pick your favorite dance style, and become a sponsor of this event. Voting for your favorite couple will give the foundation a $10.00 donation. If you become a sponsor at the Super Star level for $1000 this will give your favorite dance team 100 votes or you may purchase a ticket for $50.00 and add 5 votes for your favorite couple.
The Florence Symphony Orchestra will provide the music for the Florence Dancing With The Stars benefit. Some of the dance styles to be presented are the Salsa, Jive, Swing, Cha Cha and Tango. There will be Heavy Hors D’oeuvres and an open bar for this sparkling event.
