‘Dancing with the Stars’ Chelsie Hightower not on season 16, not her choice

A photographer caught Chelsie Hightower off guard at LAX and got the dance pro to reveal that she was not invited back for season 16 of “Dancing with the Stars” according to TMZ on Feb. 24.

The admission seems to have been made accidentally while Chelsie and the off-camera photographer talked about the dancer’s reaction to the announcement that Maks Chmerkovskiy was leaving the show. Assuming Chelsie was returning, the reporter asked her about returning to the show. It was then Chelsie said, “I’m off the show.”

Stunned, the reporter pressed for more details and learned that it was not Chelsie’s choice to leave the hit dance competition show. She did say she may be for future seasons of the show which is a relief to fans.

Chelsie has appeared on DWTS since 2009 and has been partnered with celebrities including Michael Bolton, Romeo and Jake Pavelka.

You can check out Chelsie’s conversation with the photographer on TMZ’s site.
