The “Dancing With the Stars” band has been fired by ABC. Harold Wheeler and his orchestra were given the boot this week, Hollywood News Daily reported on Feb. 4.

According to the report, Wheeler and the orchestra were let go by the network in favor of a more modern sound.
The “Dancing With the Stars” band will most likely be replaced with a small electric band to help draw in a younger fan base.

“Our talented Music Director, Harold Wheeler, will not be joining us for Season 18. Since season one, Harold and his band have performed brilliant music in our ballroom for our dancers and the American viewers at home. We are grateful to him and his band for their amazing work and years of collaboration. We wish him the best of luck,” ABC said in a statement after the news broke.

While the “Dancing With the Stars” band always sounded great, they did have have issues with getting the sound right on some pop songs.

What do you think about the “DWTS” band being fired?
