Dancing with the Stars April 5, 2011 results: Wendy Williams was eliminated

Tonight's 'Dancing with the Stars' results show has revealed the second celebrity contestant to be eliminated from the competition. After votes from viewers were counted and added with the judges points, Wendy Williams had received the lowest overall score and was voted off of ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars' on April 5, 2011.

It seems that Dancing with the Stars 2011 finds the judges and fans in sync, for once. Wendy Williams landed at the bottom of the leaderboard for week three of Dancing with the Stars' competition, receiving a score of 15 out of a possible 30 points from the judges, and Dancing with the Stars fans obviously agreed, as Williams received the lowest total amount of votes from viewers at home, resulting in her elimination.

Popularity can take a not so fantastic dancer far on Dancing with the Stars. Perhaps Wendy Williams was not as well known as some of the other celebrity contestants.

Mike Catherwood who was not a well known celebrity, was voted off of ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars' last week. Catherwood is a radio personality that many, including myself, have never heard of.

Could the lack of recognition have been a contributing factor to Wendy Williams' being eliminated from Dancing with the Stars? Possibly. Could it have been her dance ability? Probably. During her elimination speech Williams addressed her dancing talent stating, "Despite the stereotypes, this is one black girl who can't even do the running man."

In Wendy Williams defense, she traveled back and forth each day from New York to L.A., juggling her Dancing with the Stars rehearsals and performances with the production of her talk show, 'The Wendy Williams Show'. She also had the responsibilities of a marriage and a child to contend with.

Perhaps being voted off of Dancing with the Stars was a blessing in disguise for Wendy Williams.
