'Dancing with the Stars' alum Marie Osmond lands talk show

We recently reported that the Hallmark Channel was severing their ties with Martha Stewart when it came to her daytime talk show, and now we know just who her replacement is set to be.

As the New York Post first reported, legendary entertainer and former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Marie Osmond is set to take over the daytime spot with a show of her own -- but a network source said that they are not ready to make an official announcement just yet:

“While we’re still in discussions with Marie, we’re extremely excited about the prospect of Marie Osmond joining the Hallmark family ... We think she’s perfect for our brand and we’ll share more news when we have a deal.”

Marie does seem on the surface to be a solid fit for the cable network -- she has plenty of experience in entertainment, appeals to the network's target demographic, and also has dipped her toes into a number of different ventures over the years in the business world.

Do you think that Marie is a perfect fit here?
