Will pro dancer and Emmy-winning choreographer Derek Hough for return to “Dancing with the Stars” for season 18 and a possible three-in-a-row streak? Fans hope so. International Business Times posted Feb. 18 what the dancer had to say on the matter.
Mid-February is usually when cast announcements and professional partners for the celebs competing in the spring season are announced. Word should be coming down any day now. With the spring premiere scheduled for Monday, March 17, the pros will be anxious to get their new partners into
Mark Ballas and Cheryl Burke, both multiple-time winners, have stated they are willing to return if asked as has newcomer Sasha Farber. Hough, 28, however is being noncommittal.
"I have not decided yet," Hough said. "We are still working things out now. We will see. It is just making sure everything is in order. I am working on a book that is coming out in May entitled, 'Taking the Lead' and I have other projects going on."
The 5-time champion and Emmy winner just added another laurel to his fame. He coached the gold medal-winning U.S. ice dancing team of Charlie White and Meryl Davis. His past “Dancing with the Stars” championship partners were Nicole Scherzinger, Brooke Burke, Kellie Pickler, Jennifer Grey and Amber Riley.
Derek says he feels compelled to rise to a challenge when he thinks it is something he cannot do. Could winning three in a row for a total of six wins compel him compete one more time?
Hopefully we will find out soon!
