The "Dancing with the Stars" 2013, season 16 cast will be officially announced on ABC's "Good Morning America" Feb 26, according to a press release by ABC Medianet Feb. 11.
Pro dancer, Louis Van Amstel, shared that contestants and pros will begin dance rehearsals the week of Feb. 25. Obviously, the cast roster is nearing completion if it hasn't been done already.
According to the press release, hosts Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke will continue their hosting duties on season 16 of the show -- in addition to judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba judging the weekly dance competitions.
Typically the stars' pro dance partners aren't named at the same time the celebrity contestants are during the official announcement. Will the first cast of 2013 be named along with their pro partners?
Here's what Van Amstel said in a recent radio interview:
“The pros are the last people to find out if they are on the show. And we only find out one or two days before the public finds out. And the reason for that is because they first want to sign up all the celebrities. And when they have the lineup, only then will they tell us who we have and who is on the show.”
Partners and celebrities are paired based on a number of factors that include height, personality, dance experience of the contestants.
