Is Dolly Parton actually close to joining the cast of "Dancing with the Stars" this coming season? This seems to be the hot rumor at the moment -- but being a hot rumor does not necessarily make it true.
There have been a number of outlets who have claimed that producer are interested in booking the country legend on the show, and on a superficial level the casting does make sense -- Parton has an extensive fan base, and this show could help her appeal to younger fans and also give the show a boost in the ratings.
However, a rep for the singer specifically is taken issue with the claims that Parton and "Dancing" are close to a deal. Speaking to Gossip Cop, they claim that the talk of a deal being done is "false."
Is it possible that Parton is still holding out for a better deal? Sure, but for now we have to say that it's unlikely.
