Once again, for the third week in a row, Kirstie Alley has had to endure and overcome yet another unfortunate event. During Dancing with the Stars April 11th performance show, Kirstie Alley lost her shoe. Halfway through her classical Waltz routine, professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy spun the actress around and her toes were pulled from her high heel. Luckily, she was on the floor and she had a moment to put the shoe back on before continuing the dance.
This latest misfortune prompted Dancing with the Stars judge, Carrie Ann Inaba to dub Alley, "Queen of the Unexpected Mishaps".
Kirstie Alley was dumbfounded, "Who loses a shoe? Whose shoe falls off while they're dancing? It's not right. I'm supposed to be acting like a swan and I'm putting my shoe on!"...At least she didn't fall again.
Last week during Dancing with the Stars April 4th performance show, Kirstie Alley's professional dance partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy fell during their Rumba, taking Alley down with him. Muscle strain was the cause of the fall. As with Alley's shoe mishap, the two picked themselves up and continued the dance as if nothing had happened.
Week two of Kirstie Alley's Dancing with the Stars 2011 experience unveiled her first misfortune, a Quick Step that she was not yet physically prepared for. Toward the end of the dance routine, Alley ran out of energy and ran out of breath so there was a little trip up at the end. This first mishap, while not as obvious as losing a shoe or taking a tumble, was the beginning of a series of unfortunate incidents which hopefully will not end in her being voted from the Dancing with the Stars competition.
Kirstie Alley began her Dancing with the Stars adventure with a bang, exuding grace and sizzling with sex appeal during her first dance of the season, a Cha Cha. She ranked number two on the Dancing with the Stars leaderbord, earning a score of 23 out of a possible 30 points from the judges. But these series of mishaps that have plagued the lovable actress have knocked her down from near the top of the Dancing with the Stars 2011 leaderboard, to near the bottom.
Good luck Kirstie Alley. May your new Dancing with the Stars title of "Queen of the Unexpected Mishaps" be short lived.
