May 10, 2010 -- 'Dancing With the Stars' is closing in on the finale for this season, but contenders have the bug. The dance bug.

In fact, perpetual Pennsylvania visitor Kate Gosselin will be back to dance once more at the end of the season in a couple of weeks, so bet on this reality mom getting in some long hours of practice before she hits the ABC TV show's boards in Los Angeles once again.

The Bachelor, Texan Jake Pavelka will surely be practicing around town for his last performance on the DWTS finale as well come May 24-25. In fact, even when the popular show packs up until the next competition, don't think ballroom (and jazz, ballet, hip hop, ...) will be gone from La La Land once DWTS stops production for this go-round.

More than ever, dance is on the books for visitors to Los Angeles who don't want to miss class but do want to get a feel for how celebs and others take to the barre in The City of Angels. So, with that said, when you hit town, hit a dance class or two.

Following are the best studios Los Angeles has to offer:

Studio A Dance
At this neighborhood hangout (a hit in Silver Lake for more than two decades), serious students, former hoofers and first time dancers feel free to drop in three times a week or once a year -- and still fit in without missing a beat. Owner Bill Brown makes every class fun, setting the tone for all his teachers by making humor part of the equation. Try his jazz sessions, or opt for ballet, jazz, modern and even belly dancing. Studio A touts lots of kid's classes, too.

Edge Performing Arts Center
Anyone in the Industry (translation: show business) who needs to network will appreciate this Hollywood studio. Working and non-working thespians also enjoy the studio's upbeat jazz, fun and hip-hop classes, available almost any day and at any time to fit actors' irregular schedules.

IDA (International Dance Academy)
Located in the heart of Hollywood, this relatively new, inventive studio sponsors musical theater dance, an endeavor not easily found elsewhere, either in Tinseltown or across the country. Other classes are also taught here, including salsa, jazz, ballet, and Bollywood -- a current citywide dance trend. As for celebs, you have a good chance of seeing Rihanna, Lil Kim, and Snoop Dogg here.

Millennium Dance Complex
This vast Valley complex located close to NoHo (North Hollywood Arts District) begins with 9 studios and 30-some instructors. Then comes its pride for being a professional dance studio (note: newbies may feel intimidated so beware if you're a starter dancer). Because instructors are on the cutting edge, dancers flock to Millennium to learn whatever's-next-in-style while serious types like Britney Spears and The Pussycat Dolls (yes, Nicole has been spotted here) have often worked in Millennium’s rehearsal rooms.

Dance Arts Academy
With famous flamenco artist Carla Luna as director, you can be assured there's always some sort of ethnic dance going on in this skylit studio. Flamenco tops a list that includes Irish step, Brazilian, African, Thai and Hawaiian hula. Also here in the Wilshire District, where the clientele ranging from beginners to professionals, are the classics: ballet, modern, and jazz.

Electric Lodge
Westsiders favor this Venice neighborhood dance spot that's so green, it's solar powered. Eclectic classes vary from Brazilian to tango to body weather, taught by dancer/choreographer Oguri, a top conveyor of the contemporary dance movement known as Butoh. After your Electric Lodge session, walk a few blocks to Venice Beach for a natural wind down by the sea.

 Le Studio Dance

A Pasadena institution (around for three decades), this is where area parents send their kids (starting at age 3) for an introduction to the art of dance.  Oh, and adults are welcome too!

93rd Street Dance
Situated in the city section known as Beverly Hills-adjacent, this second-floor studio is all about getting all tangoed-up. In fact, that's what Dancing With The Stars contenders do during rehearsals in this brightly lit space. By night, ballroom dance classes vary from swing and the Lindy hop to samba and the Viennese waltz. During lunch time, Salsa Blast! is on the menu for all takers. Shy? Take a private lesson.
