It has been a tough couple of weeks for J.R. Martinez, who was an early favorite but has since struggled with his scores, but on Monday’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars,” J.R. reclaimed his spot at the top of the leaderboard with a Samba judge Len Goodman said will be used as an example for how male dancers should Samba.

On Monday, each of the judges was shown commenting on what will take each celebrity to the finals. Bruno Toniolo said J.R. was nearly perfect in all of his performances but needed cleaner finishes to his moves and his lines. That definitely wasn’t the case for his Samba! His moves were full and strong; J.R. was made for the Samba! The judges were incredibly impressed, especially since the Samba has historically been difficult for the male celebrities, and Bruno called his performance brilliant!

Of course, not everyone can have an amazing week – well, they all could, but that doesn’t usually happen – and this week, it was Carson Kressley that was left at the bottom of the leaderboard. His Jive was high energy and full entertaining, but it wasn’t really the Jive the judges hoped. Once again, though, the judges tiptoed around the performance being terrible; they weren’t as tough on Carson as they have been on other celebrities. Does this mean Carson will go home on Tuesday? Probably not. Too many people like watching him, he appears to be kept each week as entertainment for the next week.
