'Dancing With Stars' Amy Purdy: part of Oprah's 'Standing O-vation' by Toyota

Amy Purdy is not only a gorgeous young lady, but is an Bronze Medalist snowboarder and “Dancing With the Stars” finalist. Now, she will join Oprah Winfrey's “Oprah's The Life You Want Weekend.” Oh yes, Amy is missing her legs. That has not slowed her down at all and she is widely sought after as a speaker, model, and actress.

Toyota will be sponsoring the “Standing O-Vation” which recognizes extraordinary people from all over the United States. This will be an eight-city tour. Purdy lost her legs due to a bout with Meningitis when she was only 19 years old, but has gone on to be one of those extraordinary people. She won a Bronze Medal for the United States in the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games and went on to become a finalist in the wildly popular “Dancing With the Stars”. She has founded a non-profit organization called “Adaptive Action Sports.”

Toyota has been associated and supportive of Purdy for a number of years. Not only is Amy a member of the Team Team athlete group, but is a brand ambassador. Toyota strongly supports her non-profit group “Adaptive Action Sports.” Amy also served as the Grand Marshal for the 2014 Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

The Toyota “Standing O-vation” is part of the company's commitment to promote the interests of women, through stories that help define the automaker's brand. Toyota calls it an opportunity to recognize remarkable women who make the world a better place, but also help to motivate other women to make personal changes in their lives. These women are described as those who beat the odds, push the envelope, or otherwise inspire others. The “Standing O-vation” by Toyota award will recognize and honor those who are accomplish that and also living their own bold life.
