Melissa Thodos, who founded Thodos Dance Chicago more than 20 years ago, invites fans, friends and supporters of the contemporary dance company to Thodos Dance Chicago's 21st Anniversary Gala 21 Club on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Chicago Cultural Center on Randolph Street and Michigan Avenue.

Thanks to the help of NBC5 news anchor Kim Vatis, longtime Thodos supporter and Chair of the 21 Club Host Committee, the evening will recreate New York's historic prohibition-era speakeasy 21 Club where only insiders armed with a secret password could gain entry to the restaurant’s secret underground wine cellar. Guests of the 2013 event will enjoy the same private privilege as they enter the modern-day 21 Club, where they will encounter cocktails, dinner, a silent auction, a wine roulette wheel, and the live music of Swing Assembly.

Co-Chaired by Tony Award-winner Ann Reinking and Thodos Dance Chicago guest artist Gary Chryst, the evening features a performance by the Thodos Dance Chicago Youth Ensemble, and an exclusive preview of A Light in the Dark.

This most recent collaboration by Ann Reinking and Melissa Thodos tells the story of Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan and officially debuts at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie on February 16, and at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in downtown Chicago on March 2 and 3, 2013.

Thodos Dance Chicago's 21st Anniversary Gala 21 Club begins at 6:00 pm. Suggested dress for the evening is black and white cocktail. Tickets to 21 Club are $275. Tables of 10 are $2,500. To order, visit thodosdancechicago.org or call 312-266-6255.
