Designer Jean-Paul Gaultier presented his eponymous Spring/Summer 2014 collection at Le Paradis Latin over the weekend, coming out dancing with Spanish choreographer and ballet dancer Blanca Li.
Li looked chic dressed in one of Jean-Paul Gaultier’s creations, a black dress with a pleated chiffon skirt and a bodice that looks like a double-breasted cropped tuxedo jacket with satin lapels.
Actress Rossy de Palma also danced, in another Gaultier number, strapless asymmetrical sheath with a jagged hemline and striped motif, while model Coco Rocha shook a hoof herself in another strapless black ensemble, with touches of leather.
Another model who danced with Coco donned a streetwise black moto jacket, black leggings and boots, but it’s the gorgeous brown and black marbled leather moto jacket that has me intrigued...
Supermodel Karlie Kloss wore an interesting blush pink number with a vintage graphic of a woman with a huge python snake. Karlie finessed the look with a few theatrical moves of her own.
As for the rest of the Jean-Paul Gaultier Spring/Summer 2014 collection, expect voluminous flounced tulle skirts in pale peach, shimmery dresses pieced together in strips of varying lengths and in black, gold and burgundy, bronze metallic separates, and even some autumnally toned floral peaces!
Though not altogether unusual, this is a Jean-Paul Gaultier collection for those who love a touch of drama and don’t mind being the center of attention as you walk into a room. In that regard, it would be money well spent… Enjoy the slideshow and embedded video!
