Dancing about big ideas: Liz Lerman Dance Exchange

An incredible, mind-blowing, soul-searing performance is coming to town. You can see eloquent dance and explore your Jewish identity all at the same time! Jewish Baltimore Blog posted this article:

On Wednesday, May 25, 2011, Liz Lerman Dance Exchange will perform at The Gordon Center for Performing Arts.  The name of the performance, “Dancing About Big Ideas,” will use explosive dance, personal stories and humor to demonstrate how a company of performers can stretch the expressive range of contemporary dance. This will be an interactive performance about the very essence of who we are as Jewish people and community.  THE ASSOCIATED caught up with Lerman ahead of her performance.

How old were you when you started dancing?
I took my first dance class when I was five-years-old; I was spinning before I was talking.  I knew that I wanted to dance as a child, but I never expected it to be what it’s become.
