Author and Purpose Coach, Monique Moliere Piper, is no stranger to the Big Easy.
Originally hailing from New Orleans, she is a graduate of both Warren Easton Charter High School and Xavier University of Louisiana, and we all love a local-girl-makes-good story. Now she lives, not all that far away, in Baton Rouge - but she took with her that sense of helping others that is a prominent trait of New Orleans' native children.
In her inaugural non-fiction release, Dance in the Sun: Being the Authentic You, Piper has compiled a collection of life lessons intended to be an action guide for women to become who they were meant to be. All too many women become lost in relationships or trapped by feared social stigmas but Dance in the Sun: Being the Authentic You acts as the blueprints for women who need to redefine their identities.
Written by Piper describing her own quest, Dance in the Sun: Being the Authentic You chronicles her personal path “…seeking to live what has become, for many of us, an extraordinary life. Extraordinary only because living in an authentic space is largely uncommon. This is a space where you are free to become who you were meant to be, instead of who you were conditioned to be, or who you believe you cannot be because of bright red stop signs....painted by YOU. We have become a disorderly bunch suppressed by outside expectations and inside limitations.”
This month, Monique Moliere Piper, the East Baton Rouge library author of the month and a featured author on the CBS affiliate Library Road Show, will be in New Orleans for a book signing. Coming up at the Garden District Book Shop, come out to meet Piper on Wednesday, October 30 from 6 to 7:30 P.M. The Garden District Book Shop is located at 2727 Prytania Street.
