Dance on the High Line: Naomi Goldberg Haas' Dances for a Variable Population

“Dances For A Variable Population makes concert dances with diverse communities and professional dancers ranging from children who think dance is only on MTV, to persons with disabilities who think dance is denied them, to seniors who think dance is beyond them.”
-Naomi Goldberg Haas

Dance artist Naomi Goldberg Haas choreographs dynamic concert dances with diverse communities. Her performing group, Dances for a Variable Population, aims to erase the border between dancer and non-dancer, returning dance to its initial wellspring: joy.

At 6:00 PM Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings September 29, 30, and October 1, and 2:00 PM Saturday afternoon October 2, 2010 Ms. Goldberg Haas' company Dances for a Variable Population and senior citizens from the Hudson Guild (a multi-service agency for seniors and other residents of the Chelsea community) will perform Autunm Crossing set to the music of The Warsaw Village Band at High Line Park near the 16th Street entrance on Manhattan's West Side. The performance is free.

These are "the Goldberg Variations" eh? I wish I could go "Bach" there and see them.
