‘Dance Moms’ to change cast? New faces expected in upcoming season

The fans of “Dance Moms” are going to be seeing some new faces for the upcoming season. Most viewers already have their favorite youngsters to cheer on in competition, but it appears that Abby Lee Miller is going to be changing up who everyone gets to see on the Lifetime reality show. According to WetPaint on Monday, the upcoming second half of Season 4 will include original ALDC members and those freshly added newbies fans saw last season.

So what does this mean? By provoking a rivalry between her groups, Abby Lee Miller will be pitting talent against talent and all the dancers might be seen more than once as the two groups will compete often.

The new formula doesn't help those dancers who already have a strong fan base. There is definitely going to be some tears shed as the intentions here are to defend the dancing turf already established and that means it could be a brutal showdown

Offering a challenge while being in the same dance studio also will give Abby Lee Miller a better way to control who wins (and who loses) as she shapes her teams. While some viewers might think it would be a disadvantage to the original team (and they might be right) it does mean the production team can create their own competitions without having to find outside dancers.

While viewers are waiting to find out exactly how this would look on Lifetime, there is no need to worry about the formula of the new show for now. On Tuesday night the fans of “Dance Moms” will get to see a few of the favorites as Maddie and Chloe’s performances are highlighted for the fans to check out. There has always been a rivalry between Maddie and Chloe and how their moms play into it is an interesting dynamic that will be explored.

“Dance Moms” airs on Lifetime at 9 p.m. ET.
