Dance Alliance will present its annual season concert, Momentum and Memories, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 at the Lee County Alliance for the Arts. The concert will present the best choreography from the company's first four seasons, including The Four Seasons set to Max Richter's beautiful re-imagining of Vivaldi's classic, an expanded version of Stuck (2013) by choreographer Lauren LaPatin, and a re-staging of Storms by Lori Madl, which was a hallmark of the 2011 season.
The company is also pleased to introduce new works, including Sugar, a tribute to a beloved grandfather, and Elan, a contemporary piece set to classical piano. The concert will also feature guests of Art Poems and N.Ft. Myers Academy of the Arts All State Dancers.
Dance Alliance was founded in the summer of 2009 by a group of four women who wanted to create more opportunities for adult dancers and increase the prominence of dance in Southwest Florida. The troupe serves as the resident company for the Alliance for the Arts and is dedicated to dance education, performance and to inspire younger dancers to maintain dance as an integral part of their lives.
The performance takes place in the Foulds Theatre at the Alliance for the Arts, which is located at 10091 McGregor Boulevard, just south of its intersection with Colonial Boulevard. A $10 donation is requested at the door. For more information, please telephone 239-939-2787.
