Monday evening, The American Cancer Society celebrated the 4th Annual 'Dance Against Cancer' fundraiser. It was a packed house and an evening filled with various entertainment followed by a lively cocktail reception at AXA Equitable Theater.
Under the production of Erin Fogarty and Daniel Ulbricht, dancers in the performance collaborated from some of the most prestigious organizations including: New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, American Dance Machine for the 21st Century, Boston Ballet, Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, Miami City Ballet and Paul Taylor Dance Company.
Each act varied, some with the accompaniment of live music (piano, violin, guitar and ukulele) while others were fun, upbeat as well as classical, pristine dance routines.
During the after-party, Heather Parcells from the catchy, Parisian-themed number, 'Vertigo-Go' and most of the other performers were available for a personal meet and greet.
The various Choreographers included: Tracy Straus, George Balanchine @ The George Balanchine Trust, Frederick Earl Mosley, Justin Peck, Greg Graham, Liam Scarlett, Kirven Douthit-Boyd, Johan Kobborg, Brian Reeder, Paul Taylor, Larry Keigwin, Susan Stroman, Marius Petipa & Alaxander Gorsky and Christopher Wheeldon.
