The season finale of "The Walking Dead" ended on a cliffhanger and even though there are several months to wait, fans are speculating on what will happen in season 5. Danai Gurira, who plays Michonne on the zombie series, warns that the characters are in a scary situation. According to an April 10 report by Access Hollywood, the actress says that the next season will be dire and intense.
Terminus is a bit of a mystery to viewers, although it is known that they are up to no good. They put up signs all over Georgia, luring desperate survivors to them. Most of the main characters have made it to the sanctuary, but now they are trapped in a boxcar. So what does Gurira have to say about Terminus and "The Walking Dead" season 5? She couldn't give any spoilers, but did say that the group is in a "dire circumstance" and they are not nice people at all.
“I can tell you that it’s gonna be dire and it’s gonna be intense,” Danai teased. “It’s all the things you tune in to see. It’ll be that and then some."
One of the most popular Terminus theory right now is cannibalism and there were clues on the season finale that seemed to suggest it. However, ComicBook.com reported on April 5 that showrunner Scott Gimple doesn't want fans jumping to conclusions. He said that the pile of human bones doesn't mean that Gareth and his group ate the bodies they belonged to.
Robert Kirkman, creator of "The Walking Dead," spoke to TV Line about Terminus,
"It’s a completely alien environment with very strange people that live in a very specific and strange way that is in no way any kind of remnant of what we knew before. They’re actually a lot more dangerous and a little bit scarier when it all comes to light.”
A deleted scene photo from the season finale was posted in The Walking Dead Forums. It shows Rick, Carl, Michonne and Daryl in a dungeon-type room facing zombies. While the undead creatures do have chains, they still have the ability to move around and grab people. It seemed as if the characters were supposed to battle the walkers, perhaps as some sort of game or test.
The possibilities of what is going on at Terminus are endless, but fans are being reassured by Gimple that the answers will come very quickly. No matter what is going on with Gareth and his group, it isn't going to be good. Now with Danai telling fans that season 5 of "The Walking Dead" is going to be "dire" and "intense," one has to wonder what will happen and who will die.
