Dan Sileo leaves Miami’s WQAM

Former WDAE morning sports talk host Dan Sileo has left WQAM in Miami. In a statement released by Sileo he said, “Our differences revolve around content issues and we wish each other the best. As for me and my style of sports talk, I will never change.” Sileo joined WQAM in Miami as the afternoon drive sports talk host after resigning from WDAE last March. Late in 2012, he was moved to middays. Recently he has done some fill-in co-hosting at Boston’s WEEI. Now that he’s officially out in Miami, will he move up north to join the Boston sports talker? Or could he return to Tampa Bay on 98.7 “The Fan”? Stay tuned.

On satellite radio, Sirius XM Radio announced Monday that it has added Adam Schein to the talent roster on its all-sports Mad Dog Radio channel (SiriusXM channel 86). Current midday host Bruce Murray is moving to the NFL Radio Channel on Sirius/XM to host a daily show.

Starting Monday, March 11, Schein will host “Schein on Sports live every weekday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Chris Russo’s “Mad Dog Radio” channel. He moves to “Mad Dog Radio” from the SiriusXM “NFL Radio” channel, where he hosted “The SiriusXM Blitz” alongside 2002 NFL MVP Rich Gannon.

“I am incredibly excited about the move to “Mad Dog Radio”, where I can debate and discuss everything happening across the world of sports with an audience that is as passionate as they come,” said Schein. “My style fits in perfectly on Mad Dog Radio and I'm thrilled to be joining Chris Russo and the rest of the team after nine wonderful years on SiriusXM NFL Radio. There is no better place to talk sports than on SiriusXM.”

Schein also co-hosts the “Loudmouths” show on SNY cable in New York with Chris Carlin and “NFL Monday QB” on the CBS Sports Network during the football season.

Dennis Rodman’s diplomacy, Brian Cashman’s bad jump, Grapefruit League baseball and Rory’s tooth were among the topics Don Henderson and I kicked around on Monday “Sports Talk”. Click here to listen to the podcast.
