Dan Sileo gets suspended for tweets

Tweeting can get you in trouble. Just ask Dan Sileo. The former WDAE morning host and currently the midday sports talk host on WQAM in Miami, has been suspended for two days for comments he made on Twitter about the Manti Te’o story and FOX sports reporter Erin Andrews.

Sileo, no stranger to strong opinions, criticized the sports media for not covering the Manti Te’o story the way he felt it should have been covered and singled out FOX’s Erin Andrews. After Andrews Tweeted back she’d never covered a Notre Dame game, Sileo Tweeted, “Love Erin Andrews either naked or in a porn. Not at a sports desk.” He later apologized for that remark. He reportedly Tweeted other comments about Erin Andrews that station management decided was worthy of a suspension.

Last fall, Sileo, who played football at the University of Miami, got some viral video notoriety for laying into the Hurricanes after a particularly bad performance on the field. Currently Sileo does the 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. slot on Miami sports station WQAM 560 AM.

Dan Sileo left Tampa sports talker WDAE 620 AM after he made some racial comments he made about several Tampa Bay Bucs players.
