Dan Severn announces pending retirement, news on Ring of Honor and WWE.com

Dan Severn has announced that he will be retiring from professional wrestling at the end 2013, according to PW Insider.com. Severn was a workhorse in the NWA throughout the 1990’s and also had in WWE in 1998. The former World Champion is a Michigan native, calling Coldwater is home.

Ring of Honor will hold a television aping this Saturday in Baltimore, Maryland. Here is some of what is scheduled for the show:

*ROH Tag Team Champions The Briscoes (Jay and Mark) vs. Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander.

*ROH TV Champion Adam Cole vs. BJ Whitmer.

*Matt Hardy appearing.

*Nigel McGuinness will address the Jay Lethal issue.

*Michael Elgin vs. Mike Bennett.

The company will be here in Metro Detroit on Friday, Jan. 18 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, Michigan. Here are the matches already announced:

*ROH World TV Champion Adam Cole vs. Jimmy Jacobs
