The Portland Trail Blazers will be moving on to round 2 of the NBA Playoffs series. It was all made possibly by Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard, who sunk an amazing buzzer beating 3-point shot with less than a second to go. Lillard's amazing shot put the Trail Blazers just one point over Rockets when time ran out according to ESPN on Saturday

The shot heard 'round the world

No one in the stands at Moda Center thought it could happen. With just .9 seconds on the clock and several horrible calls made by the referees, the game seemed over. Trail Blazers fans, disheartened by the horrible out of bounds call against Lillard just moments before began chanting, "Refs you suck!" It was pandemonium, everyone was angry about the ending, thinking they just got robbed.

That's when the most amazing play in Trail Blazers' playoff history was about to go down. The crowd was near silent as Batum tossed the ball in with less than a second left. When Lillard got that ball and sent it flying from deep into 3-point territory, the entire crowd sucked in a collective nervous breath. When the ball sailed cleanly through the hoop, Moda center exploded. It was the most exciting game thus far in the series and definitely one for the Portland record books.

Damian Lillard is the hero

While Trail Blazers fans went absolutely nuts, referees made one last check to see if they could give that game to Houston. Fans cheered, celebrated and took to the court. It was chaos. When the refs finally made the call that Portland had won, probably less than half the stadium heard the announcement.

The celebration was so loud and so intense with Portland Trail Blazers fans in full party mode. They were high-fiving each other, screaming, cheering and hugging complete strangers because at that moment, they were one and they had beat the Houston Rockets against all odds.

Only one person was more excited than the rest and that was Damian Lillard himself. In the midst of celebration, Lillard walked to the announcers booth, took the microphone and yelled, "Rip City!"

On to the next round

Now that the Trail Blazers have eliminated the Rockets by winning 4-2, they will move on to the next round. This is where the real work starts as Portland will play either the Dallas Mavericks or San Antonio Spurs in round 2. This all depends on game 7 of their series as Dallas won Friday night to tie up the series at 3-3.
