Heavy rainfall dodged the Metroplex during the last few days of October while torrential precipitation of more than a foot inundated areas further south such as Austin. Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport logged only .11"during this same rainfall episode.
The Metroplex continues in a moderate drought from Dallas eastward and a severe drought from Fort Worth westward, but there’s some good news: another heavy rain event is taking shape for Tuesday, November 5.
The scenario is quite similar to the one seen on October 29 with a deep upper trough to the west, strong surface inflow of moisture and a well-defined cold front. So it remains to be seen if Dallas will miss the rain again, but it’s another favorable situation for rainfall – amounts uncertain.
