Halloween is just around the corner and haunted houses are springing to life. If you’re going to be in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area for Halloween, there are several different haunted houses to choose from that are will thrill you, horrify you, and leave you shaking in your boots.
Dallas Scare Grounds:
Dallas Scare Grounds, located at 2001 Irving Blvd. in Dallas, boasts three haunted houses: The Necrotorium, The Terrortorium, and The Hallucinatorium.
Tickets at the gate are $20.00 and gives you access to all three haunted houses and includes the festival. Tickets may also be purchased online and range from $17.00 for non-peak nights and times to $25.00 for nights that they are at their busiest. Group rates are available with 24-hour notice.
Want to skip the haunted houses? Admission to the festival only is $3.00.
Cutting Edge Haunted House (One of America’s Top 13 Haunted Houses, 2009):
Cutting Edge Haunted House, located at 1701 E. Lancaster Ave. in Ft. Worth (at the intersection of I-30 and I-35), is located in an old abandoned meat packing plant in an area known as "Hell's Half Acre".
This year they offer their attendees life size Animatronics, Crazed Clowns, Giant Alligators, and “…a facility that is naturally infested with spiders and snakes” that are sure to make your skin crawl.
Admission is $28.50 for adults, $23.00 for children 10-years old and under plus applicable sales tax. Want to cut in line? A Speed Pass for an extra $10.00 allows you to enter ahead of regular ticket holders. Tickets may be purchased at the gate or online.
According to their website, a portion of their proceeds will be donated to the Ft. Worth Fire Department Fire Safety Program and the Ft. Worth Marshals Association. Show your support and head out to the Cutting Edge Haunted House this Halloween season.

Fright Fest is held October 2-November 1, 2009 at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington and is presented by Snickers. The park is transformed into a really cool Halloween playground. Enjoy rides in the dark, street entertainment, haunted houses that are sure to thrill you, and much more.
Admission: Adults $49.99; Children Under 10-years of age $31.00; Children 2-years old and under get in FREE. One Day Parking is available for $15.00.
Days and Times: Sundays 11:00 a.m. -- 7:00 p.m.; Fridays 6:00 p.m. -- 11:00 p.m.; Saturdays 10:00 a.m. -- 10:00 p.m.
Haunted Houses include: Skullduggery, Bloody Mary’s Circus of Fears, Studio 13, and General Beauregard’s Haunted Mansion. Admission to the haunted houses are an additional $3.00-$5.00 and may not be suitable for small children.
Children 10-years old and younger will enjoy the Kids’ Kostume Katwalk as they strut their stuff in the supermodel-zombie walk. The Kids’ Kostume Katwalk is hosted by WBAT and those children participating will receive a certificate.
The Justice League will be holding a meet-and-greet everyday at the entrance of Gotham City and Looney Tunes Spooky Town is for children under 54 inches tall.
