Dallas Cowboys quick hits: Mike Jenkins, Mat McBriar, Dez Bryant

Some quick news regarding the Cowboys while I was down and out being sick…

A cyst below his left knee, will make Mat McBriar go under the knife in order to be ready for training camp for the Dallas Cowboys in August.

McBriar was put on IR because of what was diagnosed as nerve damage to his his left leg.  At the Mayo Clinic last week McBriar was diagnose with an intraneural ganglion cyst below his left knee.

He should be ready to go at training camp, stating that he should be 100% in the summer.

In other injury news, it isn’t good for Mike Jenkins is believe to be down and out for 4-5 months because of an injury to his right shoulder.

Jenkins had surgery, and according to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com, Jenkins is looking at a 4-6 month recovery time. If he needs the full rehab time, then he could miss all of the off-season work and be ready for training camp, which will begin in late July.

Jenkins put forth effort on the defensive side of the ball last season, but was clearly a liability for the Cowboys.

The Dallas Cowboys have went into this off-season with problems before even getting started.

Same old same old as they say.

Last week Dez Bryant start his second off-season in Miami, where Todd Archer reported Bryant was in an altercation at a Miami hot spot night club.

Why is a guy like Bryant out and about. in places known for problems? South Beach hasn’t been kind to the celebrity type unless you are a resident or player for that city, and even then you could have problems.

Even players have made statements about Bryant’s off the field problems, but according to KD Drummond of www.sbnation.com, one player by the name of Keith Brooking stated about Bryant,

I mean, guys make mistakes. I'd be a hypocrite if I said, you know, you can't ever make a mistake, you can't ever get in trouble," Brooking said. "But at the end of the day, I mean, eventually, you've got to step up and be a pro and do the right thing.

Brooking also stated that Bryant was “the most talented individual he's ever played with.”

If Brooking, a guy who’s been around in the NFL for 14 years, says that about you, you have to have talent.

So why waste it.

And what about the guy who is good at cleaning up problems? Jerry Jones was quoted Monday saying,

“I don't really know details of it from his prospective, but I'm aware of it, and that's about all I have to say about it."

When pressed for answers from the media Jones was clearly not willing to say anything about the situation.

Nothing else could be pulled out of Jones regarding his handling of the Bryant affair, and was clearly upset at media when further questioned about the Bryant incident.
